Instructor at Piedmont High School: Ceramics I, II, III, IV and AP 3D Studio Art
As an instructor in mixed leveled classes I provide dynamic individualized instruction. Ceramics I is a course that introduces foundational hand building and throwing techniques. Ceramics II’s projects reinforce skill but emphasis the potential expressive qualities in the sculpting. Ceramics III is for students that are interested in preparing the breadth portion of their AP portfolio. Ceramics IV is for the student that would like to continue sculpting but doesn't want the rigor of AP. As an AP 3D Studio Art instructor, I am responsible for supporting student exploration of a formal and conceptual body of work. All students create a website to showcase their body of work and learn about the critiquing process. Other responsibilities include general studio maintenance: recycling clay, purchasing glazes, loading and unloading kilns. 2D and 3D art teachers collaborate to install a school wide art exhibition and a separate AP art show. Community outreach includes supporting PAINTS by making flowers and thrown vessels for fundraising and throwing demonstration at the Piedmont Makers Faire.

Instructor at Millennium High School: Media Arts (Yearbook) and Art I
Millennium is an alternative education high school that currently serves 60 students. MHS shares the same campus as Piedmont High School. Some students transfer from out of district to participate in sports, small class sizes, and the added support. My job duties include publishing the school yearbook, teaching Art and collaborating with teachers and staff. I also have written and implemented supervised independent studies so students can complete work at their own pace.
